What is Invisalign?
The Invisalign treatment system uses a series of custom-made clear removable aligners that fit over your teeth and gently guide them into the right position. Each set of aligners will usually last for two weeks and should be worn 22 hours a day. However, with our remote-monitoring technology, patients find they change them quicker, for a faster and better result.
The aligners are made of Invisalign’s special multilayer SmartTrack material, which delivers superior comfort and control.
Achieving predictable tooth movement is the holy grail for orthodontists, and the evolution of new materials is opening up many exciting possibilities in this field.
Developed over the course of eight years by Invisalign’s research and development team, SmartTrack is a highly elastic material that applies a consistent and gentle force, improving control over tooth adjustments.
The material also delivers a snug, comfortable fit and makes it easier to insert and remove your aligners.
Some orthodontic issues are too complex to be corrected with aligners alone. SmartForce attachments are like tiny tooth-coloured handles that can be fixed to your teeth before or during your Invisalign treatment, giving your aligners something to gently push against. The attachments help to strategically apply the force needed to shift the teeth and enable complex tooth adjustments without resorting to braces. They are made of the same tooth-coloured resin used to fill in cavities, so they aren’t noticeable from outside your mouth.
iTero Element Scanner
Avoid the gagging and discomfort that many patients experience from the goopy physical impressions used to make braces moulds.
At Clear Orthodontic Studio the iTero Element Scanner is used to generate an interactive model of your teeth. This scanner takes up to 6,000 images per second and will finish mapping out the structure of your teeth and gums in just minutes.
Creating a personal treatment plan through ClinCheck Software
Driven by Dr Ash, Invisalign uses proprietary ClinCheck 3D software to map out the steps to achieving perfectly straight teeth. This software provides a 3D model of your teeth which shows how they should move into their desired positions and calculates the amount of force needed.
This allows us to create a treatment plan that is precisely calibrated to your needs, resulting in predictable, gentle, and controlled teeth movement.
Your Invisalign treatment will begin with an initial assessment at Clear Orthodontic Studio which will include a 3D interactive scan of your mouth. Dr Ash will then design a treatment plan specific for you, and order your aligners. We will fit the first set of aligners for you, along with any SmartForce attachments you may need, to commence your treatment. Normally, you would then need to come in every 6-8 weeks, however, with our remote-monitoring app, you’ll need less in office appointments, allowing you to get on with your busy life.
Maintain Your Lifestyle
Invisalign aligners are totally inconspicuous, and even your close friends and family may not notice that you’re wearing them. This can do wonders for confidence and self-esteem. The aligners are also easily removable, unlike braces, which means that you can keep biting into apples, munching popcorn, and enjoying all your favourite foods. It also allows you to keep playing your preferred sports and musical instruments, like football and playing the trumpet. They are more hygienic than braces since you can brush and floss unimpeded.
But that’s not all! Other benefits over braces include reduced tooth pain, no loose wires stabbing you in the gums, and far fewer visits into the office.
Beautiful Straight Smile
With Invisalign, teeth movements are controlled and precise and there is none of the guesswork that can be involved with braces. Just watch as your teeth move closer and closer to their ideal position every day.
